Astronomy Night at Fort Clinch State Park

Don’t miss this opportunity to view Jupiter and its moons, the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades star cluster, and perhaps a galaxy or two

Hosted by Fort Clinch State Park and sponsored by Friends of Fort Clinch, this special astronomy evening features members of the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society, who are graciously bringing their personal telescopes for everyone to enjoy.

Event Details

• Free event but registration required

• Friday, March 13, 2026  7:00pm - 9:30pm

• Guided Night Sky Tour at 8:15pm

• Park admission and fort entry fees are waived for this event

• Donations are appreciated and help us continue offering educational programs like this

Arrival & Parking

• The main gate off of Atlantic Avenue will be open

• Proceed down Canopy Road to the Fort Visitor Center parking area

• Enter through the courtyard and follow the lighted path to the fort

Food Bank Drive (Optional)

• We are collecting "canned goods" for the Barnabas Food Bank

• Please do not bring perishable items

• Representatives from Friends of Fort Clinch will be collecting donations in the courtyard outside the Visitor Center/Museum

• Contributions are optional but greatly appreciated

Viewing Guidelines

• Please use only red or low-lumen lights in the viewing area to preserve night vision for telescope observation

• This event is weather-dependent and may be canceled if skies are not clear
